I love to explore, curiosity is a thrilling feeling that I never lean away from. I aim to embody this the work I make and the communities that I’m in. No matter how small or how grand, there is alway something interesting to notice and find, even if it's a sock in a pile of laundry.
Nothing makes me feel childish joy like a sense of wonder. A project doesn’t have to be perfect on all fronts. To me, what makes the most impact is to find the core of what resonates with a person; what is their wonder? That is what I embody in my creative practice (and the feeling I get from the artwork on my walls).
The most immersed your mind can be is in a dream. When you close your eyes in bed, the world can expand to infinite universes. However, there is nothing to say that an experience like this cannot exist in real life. I love creating immersive experiences because they allow people to feel, to put themselves somewhere else or make themselves as someone else and experience a new world.
Creativity without fun is not creativity at all. When I make, by myself or with others, openness and fun is crucial to the process. More than making something as an end goal, creating art is about enjoying the actual creation. As a community organizer, I aim to foster fun, open, and diverse environments for creativity to happen (especially in my favourite video games).
